Omega Watch Museum

The Omega Museum in Bienne was founded in 1984 and was the first museum dedicated to a single watch brand. Omega was founded by Louis Brandt in 1848 and has over 160 years of fine watchmaking history to put on display. The result is a museum packed with pocketwatches, wristwatches, movements, and attributes used by watchmakers, including the very first work bench that Louis Brandt used when he started this company when he was just 23 years old.

As you probably know, Omega was the first watch manufacturer that put a watch on the moon, with the Speedmaster. Inside the museum, there are watches worn by astronauts and cosmonauts, NASA equipment and prototypes that Omega developed for the various space programs. Since 1932, Omega has timed the Olympic Games with devices specifically designed for sports events. The museum holds an impressive number of ones used for the swimming and running competitions.
